Used car evaluation

In the process of buying and selling used cars, an essential link is the used car evaluation.

The used car evaluation evaluates the technical status and value of the used car by professionals, to determine the price of the used car for sale.

The used car evaluation is generally based on the purchase period, driving distance, appearance, interior decoration and main parts of the car,

There are two main types:

1.Online assessment. The used car website will publish the car’s detailed information on the Internet, including the year, model, configuration, color, mileage, maintenance level, etc. The car owner can find many professional used car assessors on the Internet to answer questions and solve doubts without leaving home, which is convenient and quick so that the car owner can know the value of his car before selling it.

2.On-site evaluation. Based on the online assessment, further evaluation and pricing are carried out for specific vehicle conditions. Appraisers conduct comprehensive monitoring of used cars through hundreds of professional testing projects. Judge the vehicle’s overall integrity by looking at the flatness and color of the paint, the appearance of the vehicle glass, lights and vehicle gaps, and evaluating whether the car has severe accidents by internal parts such as engine and water tank.

The used car testing agency has special testing equipment, which requires long-term learning and rich practical experience. And our ordinary consumers also have some tips for evaluation and selection when facing thousands of used cars.

1.Appearance inspection

Choose a sunny day with good sight for easy observation. Observe the paint surface from different angles to see if there is any trace of paint or sheet metal. You can observe whether the car’s paint surface is flat and has a color difference in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction from the front of the vehicle. You can also touch it with your hands. Generally, the paint surface of the original factory is smooth, without the grain sense of “sand,” and will not be uneven.

Observe whether the car’s contour is smooth and smooth, whether the waistline on the side of the vehicle is misaligned, whether the car body is asymmetric on the left and right, etc. For example, if the car has been in collision repair, the gap in many parts will not fit both sides. You can also carefully observe the corrosion of the fender and the lower edge of the door. Generally, the plates in these places start to rust in the fourth year of use. The more serious the corrosion, the longer the service life of the car.

Generally speaking, in the used car market, most of the cars are in general condition, especially used cars with major accidents or used cars in the best condition are only a part of them. After all, the used car buyers are not stupid. It is easy to buy this kind of car and fail to sell it in their hands because they can basically understand the general vehicle condition after appearance inspection.

2.Opening inspection

If you’re not new to the car, you have some basic knowledge of the internal parts of the car, and you can do a more detailed inspection.

Check the appearance and operation of the engine. The engine is the heart of the vehicle. The car’s condition mostly depends on the state of the engine, that is, the wear of the cylinder liner, piston, and piston ring. First, observe whether there are water leakage, oil leakage, and air leakage in the engine compartment. Generally speaking, the engine in good condition is easy to start, the idle running is stable, and there is no occasional shaking. If the exhaust gas is translucent light gray, it indicates that the engine is in good condition.

3 Test drive

Check the door, check whether the door gap is aligned, whether there is a sizeable abnormal noise during opening and closing, and whether it is well sealed. The door glass should be able to rise and fall freely, up and down, and the side sliding window switch should be easy, smooth to push and pull, and excellent sealing. The seat surface should be clean, intact, or scratched.

When the left foot moves the clutch pedal, it should feel light and flexible, and there should be no jamming, heaviness, and no return. The accelerator pedal should be responsive and return quickly when refueling. You can drive on the road for a while to see whether the whole vehicle’s performance and the functions of various components are normal.

The used car has the property of “one car, one condition, one price.” The final evaluation price is determined according to the specific car condition. Only by protecting their own car, can owners keep their car more value and get more benefits in the used car trade. As long as consumers polish their eyes, listen more, see more, and feel more, they will be able to buy a used car with good price and good condition.
